SERP Research tool – Finding the best sites to get links from

Searching Google can be a real pain, as it changes results over the day and week. This means working through the SERPs can be a time waster, as there’s no easy way to remove those you already seen and noted as useless, approached already but got a rejection or simply – already got a link from.

Our SERP research tool is a collaborative tool, where judgments from various link builders are gathered in a central database, so that for a client we will never look at a site twice, unless we want to. Also we combine multiple keyword phrases we want to search for, so that duplicate resulting sites will only show up once. So we avoid reviewing and possibly approaching sites multiple times and only get the essence of the results. And because we got all the contact and link info in our tool for the sites we already worked with we save even more time. This does more than helping us to search for and manage your links. It’s boosting our research performance multiple times. Some researches are simply not be feasible without this tool.

We use the SERP research tool for the managed link building plans and the persona building service. In both cases we can hide those sites that are not of interest for us – be it because we already got a link there, the search engine stats are not to our satisfaction, it’s not juicy or simply because it’s an illegitimate spam site. This is a real time safer!

The picture shows a small part of the SERP research tool where we did a combined search for phrases where our company site CEMPER.COM also came up at #5 and as you can see it’s already marked as a commercial site and we see that it’s juicy and our link builders Juan and Sabine already worked on the site.

Common Backlinks – Finding your competitor’s best links

common backlinks

common back links

The common backlinks tool will find the backlinks for each domain we enter – from various sources (including Yahoo, Google, Altavista and other sources) and then shows us the backlinks of sites linking to at least two of the domains we entered. These common backlinks are some of the best links we can get for you to help put your site in the right neighborhood, and to skyrocket your rankings.

For each page we also evaluate various factors like JUICE, domain age, page rank, back links to the page to help see and approach the best ones (color coded) first!

The below example shows you a part of the report screen (without specifics of the client) for the common backlinks we researched for 12 of his competitors. As you can see, we can immediately see that the one link from the 2006 blog does not have Juice, is not even duplicate content, but is DEAD, which means that any minute we spend further on it is wasted time. Also you can gauge from the light green bars, that there are quite a few pages that DO have backlinks (i.e. 5) to it, are JUICY but do not show a Google Page Rank. Do you want a link there? WE do, if two of your direct competitors are there and the page has 5 links to it!

Common Outbound Links – Finding the top authorities in your industry

Common Outbound links

common outbound links

The link juice thief (LJT, previously common outbound links tool) helps us find super authorities that other well ranking sites or other trusted sites or authorities we know link to. In line with the idea of getting links from pages that have links this helps us to identify maybe not so well known, but well cited and trusted sources for linking. Currently we are the only company that has this tool, and while we do plan to make it public at some day, we’re still waiting. Sign up for the waiting list here.

Again, for each page we also evaluate factors like JUICE, domain age, page rank, back links to the page to help see and approach the best ones (color coded) first!

On the left side you see a very cheesy picture we’ve quickly drawn until we get this made nice to illustrate the idea of the common outbound links tool. This pattern follows the indirect linking concept as well. Your site benefits from the trust that the sites that link to those that link to you pass on. By the way, the concept of trust was defined in the trust rank paper by Stanford researchers and Yahoo.
